How to Stop Baby Crying
How to stop baby crying! We’ve all been there, it’s 2:00 am, baby is crying again and won’t stop and you’re exhausted! Sometimes it can be challenging to work out why your baby is crying and how to soothe and calm them.
After all, crying is their main form of communication and it’s not always easy to decipher what is going on.
Many parents understandably get very worried and fret when their baby looks comfortable but continues to cry. This is particularly difficult for first time parents who often don’t have the experience on how to stop baby crying and may miss the warning signs. This is also often accompanied by a nagging feeling that health problems are involved and there is something genuinely wrong. It is extremely important to be sensitive to this and refer your baby immediately to a doctor/nurse where required. Don’t delay when crying is accompanied by symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting or constipation or if you’re witnessing difficulty breathing.
How to Stop Baby Crying – Some Items to Watch For
Here’s what to look out for, that might hint that your baby is unwell or needs medical attention:-
- An ill baby often cries in a different tone than their usual cry. It may be more high-pitched.
- Of course when it comes to baby crying, the opposite also applies. An unusual quietness can also be indicative that everything is not good.
During my many years of childcare experience, I have come across many parents who have found it challenging to calm their babies. Of course the noise of crying babies is amplified when you work in environments where there are a number of them together. I’ve needed to be innovative and find ways to quickly soothe them!
Include Baby Massage in Your Daily Routine
One technique that I came across which I’ve since trained in is baby massage. Baby massage is an alternative way for you to bond with your baby and relax them in the comfort of your own home. There are many baby massage benefits for your baby and will assist them with restful sleep. In my courses, I teach you how to massage your baby so you can both discover the benefits of baby massage.
And of course, restful sleep also benefits you, the parents 🙂
