Help Baby Sleep
Help baby sleep is a common goal for any parent! A baby that won’t settle down and go to sleep can be very trying for parents. Unfortunately, it’s also a double-edged sword resulting in an infant that is cranky and parents that are tired and irritable!
It also gets harder for the parents when your baby is sleeping poorly night after night robbing you of much needed sleep!
During my many years of childcare experience, I have come across many parents who have faced this challenge and it takes its toll. I’m of course no stranger to this challenge either and it’s particularly noticeable working in an environment with a number of babies. You learn very quickly to be innovative and find ways to get them to sleep!
I’ve always found that being level headed and relaxed is a good starting point. Getting panicky and worked up doesn’t serve you or your baby.
Help Baby Sleep – Get Into a Routine
Crafting a daily routine for your baby can be a very useful strategy. This is beneficial for many aspects of parenting but it is particularly useful when it comes to bedtime sleeping. The sooner your baby sleeps alone the better and this will help them sleep through the night. Get them into the habit by:-
- Putting them to bed the same time each night and in the same way.
- Including a bath, bedtime lullaby or song and a kiss from the parents.
Help Baby Sleep by Including Massage in Your Routine
One technique that I came across which I’ve since trained in is baby massage. Baby massage is an alternative way for you to bond with your baby and relax them in the comfort of your own home. There are many baby massage benefits for your baby and will assist them with restful sleep. In my courses, I teach you how to massage your baby so you can both discover the benefits of baby massage.
And of course, restful sleep also benefits you, the parents 🙂
